The best-known process for desalination is reverse osmosis (RO). It is a technique for separating dissolved solids from water by means of a semi-permeable membrane, which has the property of allowing water molecules to pass through it, but preventing the passage of salts. These systems operate at a high pressure, typically 60-80 bar, for removal of salts from sea water.
Esmil Process Systems offers a range of standard “skid mounted” Reverse Osmosis (RO) desalination systems which are made of high-pressure stainless-steel for pipework and housings, with pre-filtration included together with all necessary instrumentation to guarantee reliable process operation. The units are designed for automatic, “hands free” operation – an integrated PLC operates the entire system. Factory testing prior to shipment ensures “plug and play” installation and commissioning with minimal erection time. Esmil Process Systems are available for commissioning, supervision of erection and start-up.
